BASIC STATS:

The Fae folk have spread across the globe millennia before modern times. Unfortunately the Great War and the Infection Wars in recent centuries have been devastating to their population. Seeking refuge in the great city states has not been ideal for the Fae, though it at least offers continued life rather than likely death at the claws of some Infection beast outside the walls. The Fae come in many types and subspecies, once there were many, many more than in modern times but the destruction of the Great War and the manner in which the Infection Swarms seemed to target Fae lands and territories at the onset of the Infection War has led to a greatly diminished population around the world.

Like so many others they have sought refuge in the great MegaCities of the post Infection War world, living among the hundreds of millions crammed into the massive population centers scattered around the globe. All Fae have some innate magical ability or another, usually determined by their subtype. This often leads to a general distrust of the Fae as it does in all magic and its users.

Many Fae at their core are spiritual beings, practicing a form of nature worship that varies from region to region, though all speak of Gaia the Earth Mother and the importance of protecting her. In the most recent decades much of this practice has fallen to the wayside, after all it's difficult to commune with nature when you're surrounded by nothing but steel and concrete for miles and miles. Some remember the old ways however, and strive to teach the younger generations born within the cities of the Great Mother Gaia.

While there were once many types of Fae, only a handful remain in modern times. Most recently the merfolk were driven nearly to extinction as the Infection spread through the world's oceans. It is believed less than a hundred remain, sustained in artificial living quarters in aquariums mostly in the European megacities of London, Madrid, and Rome. The following are the known Fae Folk subtypes still confirmed to exist. While Fae folk come in a myriad of different builds, sizes, and looks, they all (other than Banshees and Puca) naturally possess silver colored eyes.
