BASIC STATS:

Draconic kind came to this world during the Alignment, a period of time over two millennia ago where the boundaries between worlds and realities was weakened, allowing them to enter our world from wherever it was they came from. Along with the dragons came their servitor races, the industrious and clever kobolds, and the capable dragonmen and women called the drakken.

Dragons separate themselves into ‘Dragonflights’, each led by one of the Great Dragons, of which there were seven but have dwindled to five in the past century or so. The flights are named by the color of their Great Dragon though the color of the dragons within any given flight varies greatly as dragons come in a myriad of sizes, colors, and temperament. There are currently five dragonflights left, the Silver, Gold, Blue, Green, and Black flights remain while the Red and Bronze Great Dragons have died in recent centuries, the remainder of their flights being absorbed by the other Great Dragons.

Most of the dragonflights claim territory around the Mediterranean regions in Europe and North Africa though the Silver dragonflight, led by the Great Dragon Sazarial, has taken up residence in the megacity of Chicago in North America, though the reason why is not understood as dragons normally prefer to have their own territories rather than attempt to live side by side with those they are not ruling over.

Dragons, even young ones, are immensely powerful beings. Physically imposing, naturally able to use magic, intelligent, cunning, and possess a thick hide of scales that only grows more and more impenetrable as they grow older. They have lifespans that naturally last multiple millennia with some even theorizing that dragons could be immortal, though the dragons neither confirm or deny this. They are also able to polymorph themselves into a chosen humanoid form that they often use to go unnoticed among the mortal races of the world.

As dragons age they become more powerful with only the most ancient, powerful, and cunning attaining the title of Great Dragon. This title must be bestowed by the council of existing Great Dragons and is reserved for the eldest of dragons that have attained a large following of loyal drakken, kobolds, and other mortal races as well as proven themselves as capable leaders. While there are currently only five remaining Great Dragons there are several Elder dragons vying for position to claim the title of Great Dragon.

Dragons run the gauntlet of morality and temperament, some being noble and compassionate while others can be cruel and selfish. They are also able to have children with members of the mortal races, something that happens from time to time when they are posing as one of them in their humanoid forms. These children and their ancestors can sometimes develop dragon-like features such as wings, a tail, scales, or even claws and a breath weapon, resulting in what is commonly known as the Dragontouched.

Dragons are not available as a player character race.
